PEDIATRIC BALANCE SPECIALISTS
Specialized, compassionate vestibular diagnostic care tailored for children. We distinguish everyday clumsiness, dizziness, and motor hesitations from genuine health concerns and help you plan a path forward.

When you see your child frequently stumble, complain of dizziness, or get carsick on ordinary drives, it is completely natural to feel concerned. Too often, these patterns are dismissed as mere clumsy phases or attention issues.
These signs are not personal failings, clumsiness, or lack of effort. They are real, identifiable vestibular signals that can be gently evaluated, understood, and effectively treated with dedicated care.
A gentle reminder for every parent: You know your child better than anyone else. Trusting what you see is the most empowering first step toward helping them feel balanced and secure.
Bumping into doorframes or losing footing on level floors is often an inner ear signaling delay rather than rushing or clumsiness.
Nausea during short drives happens when visual tracking and inner ear motion cues fall out of sync, creating deep discomfort.
Fear of playground slides, heights, or uneven grass is a natural protective reaction when balance signals feel unreliable to their brain.
A structured, stress-free clinical sequence engineered to evaluate inner ear function, motor coordination, and sensory processing with gentle accuracy.
This one-hour baseline vestibular screen uses small sensors on the neck and beneath the eyes, lightweight video goggles, and soft earplugs to check how well your child's inner ear's balance and hearing organs and their nerve pathways work.
Video Head Impulse Testing (vHIT)
Vestibular Evoked Potentials (cVEMP/oVEMP)
Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE)
This two-hour vestibular screening uses a swaying, motorized chair, lightweight goggles in a dark room, small sensors, and mild air pressure changes at the ear to provide a more complete picture of how well the inner ear balance and hearing systems, middle ear function, and brain pathways coordinate.
Sinusoidal Rotation Testing
Tympanometry
Supplemental Electrical Test (Vertical)
Building on the prior tests, this three-hour comprehensive vestibular screening adds warm or cool air to the ear canal, sitting and lying position changes while video goggles track eye movements, and gentle visual tracking tasks — all to map how well you child's six balance canals and their brain's coordination pathways work.
Caloric Vestibular Testing
Cerebellar coordination profiling
Play-based postural stability screen

We know that clinical evaluations can feel overwhelming. Here are clear, upfront answers regarding appointments, insurance coverage, payment policies, and clinic logistics so you feel completely prepared.
We are a self-pay practice that does not bill insurance directly. This allows us to keep our costs transparent and significantly lower than traditional hospital pricing. Our fees are published openly so you know exactly what to expect—no surprise bills or hidden charges
Payment is collected securely online before your appointment through our integrated billing system (Stripe via TheraPlatform). You will receive a secure payment link ahead of your visit, which you can complete at your convenience using credit card or debit card.
Upfront payment simplifies the process for families by eliminating insurance paperwork, deductibles, co-pays, and the uncertainty of post-visit billing. This approach keeps our administrative costs low and passes those savings directly to you.
Yes. Upon request, we provide a detailed Superbill—an itemized account of all services rendered during the appointment—that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Each insurance plan handles out-of-network benefits differently, so we recommend checking your coverage before your visit.
Our direct-pay fees remain significantly more affordable than standard hospital out-of-pocket charges. We collect payment prior to your scheduled visit as outlined below:
One-hour Screen - $175
Two-hour Limited Battery - $965
Three-hour Comprehensive Battery - $1,341
For full details on what each test includes, please refer to our Diagnostics tab.
No. All procedures are completely non-invasive and designed to be safe and comfortable. Your child may pause or rest at any point during testing.
The length of your child's evaluation depends on which test package has been recommended by your care team:
One-hour Screen (45–60 minutes) - cVEMP, vHIT, OAE
Two-hour Limited Battery (Approximately 2 hours) - Screen tests plus tympanometry, rotation test, supplemental vertical test
Three-hour Comprehensive Battery (Approximately 3 hours) - Complete vestibular and hearing assessment including caloric testing and nystagmus evaluations
Our clinical staff will support your family throughout the evaluation, ensuring opportunities to rest whenever needed. Kindly wear comfortable clothing and plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled time to finalize check-in.
Comfortable Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement in preparation for the diagnostics.
Clean skin: Please avoid wearing lotions, face creams, or eye makeup, as these can interfere with sensor pads and tracking goggles.
Medications: Follow your physician's instructions regarding balance or dizziness medications prior to testing.
Eyewear: If you wear glasses or contact lenses, please bring them to your appointment.
Both parents or caregivers are warmly encouraged to participate! If siblings attend, we provide a quiet, child-friendly observation corner in our consultation suite so the primary assessment area remains calm and focused.
You will not leave the appointment empty-handed. Preliminary results are reviewed with you at the end of your child's visit, so you have an initial understanding of what we found before you head home.
A full written report follows within one to two weeks. This report is shared securely through the patient portal on TheraPlatform, where you can view it at your convenience, and a copy is also provided to your child's referring provider. If any questions come up after you've had time to read through it, simply reach out to us through the portal and we'll be glad to talk it through with you.
Not every child who undergoes testing will require treatment—but if it does come up as a recommendation, we'll walk you through exactly what that looks like before you leave.
Once testing is complete, our clinical team reviews the findings and discusses next steps with your family. Depending on the results, this may include:
Vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) – Guided exercises delivered by a physical therapist to help your child's brain compensate for balance system differences.
Coordination with other specialists – Referrals to ENT, neurology, audiology, or your child's primary care provider, as appropriate.
Monitoring – Watchful waiting with follow-up visits to track progress over time.
No further intervention – Sometimes testing simply rules out vestibular causes, which can be reassuring in its own right.
Every recommendation is tailored to your child's specific findings and your family's goals. We don't push treatment unless it's truly indicated—and if therapy is suggested, we'll help you understand why it's expected to help, what the commitment involves, and what outcomes to anticipate.
Your child's path to steady balance and confidence starts with an unhurried, comprehensive assessment. Our friendly Pensacola pediatric specialists provide clear answers and a calm, reassuring environment right in your neighborhood.
